If you live in wintery states (hello #mnwinters) it's easy to feel like every day can be groundhogs day.
We're working with our kids to come up with activities that promote self-care and keeping the winter blues away. I'd thought I'd share some ideas our family came up with!
- Learn a skill- we can't get outside as much so thinking about ways to be productive inside can help those snow days. Check out Youtube for videos on any hobby your heart could possibly desire and order your supplies up to start.
- Try a craft kit! I highly recommend looking at all the amazing craft kits on Etsy by makers, some even local! There truly are kits for anyone in mind. We bought Downton Abbey ornaments a few years back that 2020 will now help us finally finish crafting
-Spend 10 mins quietly journaling- Think about last year, what went well and what 3 things would you like to achieve or do over the next year? Don't focus hard on what you didn't accomplish in 2020, this is a difficult year and we all deserve a little grace.
- Have a "Slow day": Put on cozy pajamas, put a fireplace scene on the TV (again-YouTube), make the home smell festive with candles, and spend the day with a book or puzzle. Add in a music playlist to the mix to really set the mood.
